I would like to announce that Margarita is the winner of $1000 of custom photography in this year’s Giving is Awesome giveaway! This will include a full family session plus prints and other portrait items. She was nominated by Kristin Hatcher, who will receive $250 worth of photography as a prize. “Margarita is a devoted mother of three fantastic children. They have been a part of the Horizons for Youth organization for several years and would be most deserving of some photography for their family. Margarita often works the night shift at Burger King, comes home for a few hours rest, and is up to take her children to and from school. She is one of our most committed and gracious parents; attending all required meetings, bringing her daughter in weekly for math tutoring, even coming in twice this year for some extra help in filling out high school scholarship applications. Because she speaks little English, her three children often help her communicate. Margarita is 100% committed to her children’s education and providing them with opportunities that she herself did not have. Many of those opportunities have come from Horizons for Youth and Margarita shows her gratitude whenever possible. This is the last year that her three wonderful children will all be attending Children of Peace together and it would mean the world to them to capture this year on film.”
I am extremely proud and excited to meet Margarita and her family!

That’s so awesome Heidi – thank you for sharing your incredible talent!! I’ve worked with Horizons for Youth for many years and know that there are so many families well deserving of great photography. I forwarded your information on the them and am so glad they nominated Margarita – and that she won!! I can’t wait to see the photos!! Thanks Heidi!
