Thank you to Julianna and her parents for inviting me into their home for a session this weekend. What a beautiful setting!
Julianna has just turned one, such a magical age. Still a baby, yet so knowing. Unable to do anything for yourself, but completely in control.
By the end of our session, Julianna was ready for lunch. I stayed for a few minutes to catch her in action in her high chair, asking for “pa pa” (pasta) and gobbling it with some gusto, let me tell you!
I’m sure her parents thought, “Why is this photographer still here taking pictures of our messy baby?”. Obviously, I know this highchair picture will never go up over the fireplace. It’s not going on their holiday card. It’s not what Julianna’s dad will put on his desk at work. Grandma will probably not want a copy to keep in her purse.
This highchair face is the face that Julianna’s mom sees everyday as she raises this little munchkin. She sees the day in and day out mess of pasta sauce and veggies. Those eyes are staring at her mother, knowing that she will help her try to figure the world out. And that’s why I took the picture.

great session — the one in the doorway is delicious! and maybe i’d put that one of her actually eating broccoli over the fireplace, never know.
