I was invited to photograph wonderful little Owen at his home in Chicago. Capturing newborns at home is my favorite way to go — so relaxed for everyone and a documentation of this fast-changing time of life.
During the session, I noticed a beautiful engagement portrait of Owen’s parents and commented on how wonderful it was. “This is a really lovely portrait. Who was your photographer?”
“Actually,” said Owen’s dad, “it was my parents. They are portrait and wedding photographers.” Oh great, I thought, so NO PRESSURE to produce good images! I have to admit that my initial paranoia quickly gave way to delight as they were so accommodating and familiar with the equipment, reflectors, etc. We really captured some natural portraits.
