Cliche´ as it may sound, Kristina is beautiful both in body and spirit : Soft-spoken, given to smiling, often giggling and with an inner focus. I wish her every success this year and onward!

Magi was a delightful senior, able to give so much personality to the camera and let the fresh spring environment come through in her expressions. Thank you for braving the cold spring wind.

I admire all the teens that I get to meet for portraits. Is it just me, or do teenagers nowadays have a finely tuned sense of confidence? The guys and gals I’ve photographed recently are all so relaxed in themselves and ready to roll with whatever I throw at them. Thinking back to when I was sixteeen (see also: shy, dorky, awkward), I’m pretty sure there is NO WAY I could have done that. I remember barely managing not to hyperventilate for my 5-minute formal school headshot.

To summarize: Teens = fun.

This final picture gives a little more insight into our session. I asked Carolyn to perch on what is really a very tiny windowsill. Not even a windowsill, more of a concrete edge that happens to be near a window. You can’t easily get onto it. Between me, Carolyn and her mother, we realized it was ridiculous. Her mom stood by with the reflector, I just kept watching, then we all started laughing and I took this shot…
