It started to drip and drop at our session today, and by the end it was truly raining! These brave kids were troopers – they had come all the way from New Lennox to explore our little pocket of forest preserve in La Grange Park! If you look closely you can see tiny rain drops streaking in the pictures.
Plus, love the striped tights and the peacoat.
I’m hoping this family had fun this afternoon – I know that I did. We discovered a great nook of forest/meadow with super light and texture. I also got a chance to try out my new red chair. Shout out to Vintage Charm in La Grange for this cool ‘pre-distressed’ piece.
Ah, to be four years old and have the adoration of your parents…

We had a blast too! I can’t wait to see the rest of the gorgeous images.
Here is a preview from a family with older kids, done last weekend. This is a really fun and relaxed family (especially Grandma!) and I wanted to show that side of their personalities in their portraits. Rather than tell each person exactly how to stand, I instructed them to pose themselves – I think the results shows their laid back style.
After the group shots, the guys gave me their best “Blue Steel”…

Here is a preview from a session this morning with a go-get-em little guy and his very patient big sister. (Plus their charming parents…) This fella really did have total control of the situation – he had hutzspah! – amazing for a person who can hardly talk to be so commanding. You rule!
Note to future session clients who may be wondering “what do I wear?”. Here is an example of a family who did a great job in choosing similar tones and colors without being too matchy-matchy. Their outfits suited their personalities, were fresh and stylish, but not so trendy that next year their pictures will look outdated. Extra credit points are hereby awarded for great taste!

Here is a sneak peek of two beautiful sisters, captured this morning in what the weatherman predicts will be our last week of summery warm weather. They were playful and happy. Perfect. Big bonus: super brick front path and mom’s cool stool. It is especially rewarding to me to incorporate real parts of a child’s world when the session is at their home. So “super kids” + “cool location” = fun morning for the photographer!
